Norfolk Heritage Trail

Cholera Monument with crocuses

The Norfolk Heritage Trail is a 3 mile route covering Manor Lodge, City Road Cemetery, Norfolk Heritage Park, Clay Wood, the Cholera Monument Grounds, Shrewsbury Hospital, the Sweet Factory, Park Hill, the Old Queens Head and Sheffield Cathedral.

See the Outdoor City website for more details and to download a route map.

Sculpture trail

Guardian of the Woods sculpture

Norfolk Heritage Park has its own sculpture trail. Say hello to the Guardian of the Woods and the Green Woman, admire the quirky Deer and Troll, and see if you can spot an unusual Kestrel.

Orienteering post

There are three orienteering courses in the park: easy, medium and hard. You don’t need any specialist knowledge or experience, and it’s a fun way of finding your way around. You can download the guidance and maps using the links lower down this page.

Look out for the posts to guide you through each course – here’s an example:

All the courses start from the post at the vehicle entrance to the park (Guildford Avenue) and end at the Centre in the Park.

Did you know you could cycle in the park? There is a cycle-friendly and (mostly) green route from Sheffield station. It’s a steep climb through South Street Park and up to Clay Wood, but you’ll be pleased with yourself when you’ve done it!
